Log bridge[1] is the cheapest bridge, available from the very beginning of the tech tree.
Lose footing
Dwarfs have 3% of chance to slip and fall while walking on log bridges. If the bridge is higher than two blocks from the ground, dwarfs will be injured.
If the shelter configuration is too dependent on bridges, it's recomended to replace them with wooden bridges as soon as possible.

Trivia
There is a misconfiguration in the game code that makes commas ( , ) and the space following them, not to be rendered on the inventory descriptions. This is why it reads "A temporary bridgethe easiest to make".
