Normal mode is the standard way of playing Craft the World, where dwarves will always respawn a little while after dying[1]. Until version 0.9.007, this parameter was not customizable. And until now[2], in the Campaign, the player cannot change this; but, when creating a Custom Game, it's possible to choose the Permanent Death Mode. By doing this, dead dwarves are gone for good.
